Once Upon a time...

In 2007, a mother walked past a sports field with her three-year-old son. Children ran across the grass, laughing and cheering. The little boy stopped in fascination and said: “Mommy, I want to play football in a costume too.” For him, playing football meant wearing a jersey. She searched for a club nearby that offered football for very young children—but everywhere she asked, the answer was the same: football started only at age five. Determined to make her son’s wish come true, she asked a friend, a volunteer football coach, to offer a small weekly session for the “little ones in costumes.” He hesitated: “What if the park is unavailable or the weather is bad?” She suggested renting a hall—but that wasn’t possible either, since only registered clubs could book facilities. Then someone said: “Then we’ll just start a club.” From that moment, everything took off. The first training sessions were held in the sand at Beach Mitte. In 2008, the club was officially founded, with fixed hall and field times—an idea had become reality. What started as a three-year-old’s wish grew quickly. More children joined, new age groups and programs were added, and football was soon joined by courses for older children, teenagers, and adults. With every new idea, the club grew. The friend eventually dedicated himself full-time to the club, working tirelessly with heart and passion. But this story isn’t just about him. Our thanks go to everyone who has been part of the journey—the first supporters, volunteers, and all members who continue to make this community thrive. Every helping hand, idea, and act of dedication has turned a small child’s wish into a vibrant, diverse club.
