Pilates is a workout that focuses particularly on building the pelvic floor, abdominal, and back muscles. Pilates is usually performed on mats, and sometimes on equipment; the exercises are carried out in a controlled and fluid manner. Concentration is also important, with every movement intended to be mentally controlled. Pilates brings body and mind into harmony; it promotes more conscious breathing and leads to healthier posture.
